ONLY IN ORLANDO -- and thereabouts

When my wife and I were dating, one of our first dates was the highly bizarre FORTUNE FEAST dinner show in Kissimmee on the pristine, idyllic T-shirt and fast food paradise that is Highway 192.

FORTUNE FEAST was a musical dinner show starring Robin Hood, Maid Marian and the Merry Men, as well as a Quizzzzmaster. Why? Because it was also a glitzy game show. And a dinner. Robin Hood leapt to the stage and declared at the start of the show, proclaiming, "I am Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest -- and I want you to WIN A NEW CAR!" I am not exaggerating.


This is from a T-shirt that I think I won that night (it all seems a blur, or perhaps a dream, but it wasn't.)


Somehow my wife still married me despite the questionable choice of date event. Though it gives us stories to tell.
